Freshman Residential Medical Parking Exception
Subject to space availability, residential freshman who demonstrate a compelling need for personal transportation to attend frequent, scheduled medical or psychological appointments may qualify for a parking exception. Appointments must be scheduled at least weekly and not on an “as-needed” basis. Approval is given for no more than six months at a time.
To apply, submit the following to Student Health Services:
Requests are reviewed by the director of Student Health Services within 24 hours of receipt. Students will be notified of the disposition of their request by telephone or email.
Closer Parking
Disabled residential and commuter students can apply for “closer” parking to classes and residential buildings. If approved, students will be granted access to all parking lots on campus. Approval does not include permission to park in handicapped parking spaces (see below).
To apply, submit the following to Student Health Services:
- Medical Parking Request form
- Letter dated and signed by your doctor and on office letterhead containing the following information:
- Diagnosis or nature of your disability- Justification for closer parking
- Length of time closer parking is needed

Handicapped Parking
To obtain permission to park in a handicapped parking space in the State of New Jersey, disabled individuals must apply to the N.J. Motor Vehicle Commission for handicapped plates or placards.
